Nureeta Mae Halloween Solo

I was driving back from a wedding a few weeks back when Spotify played the song, Hot Volcano, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFE7UvHUAF8, it spoke to me. From that moment, in my driver seat, at 75 mph, I danced, wiggled, really.  I envisioned the butt wiggle, the spooky eyes, the ghostly moves, the purple get-up, the look just had to be. My motivation?  A late 1800s madam, who refused to be a ghost.

I simply refuse to stop dancing.  I refuse to stop being joyful.  Living my life.  My chemo may be ending, and options may be running low, but I’m feeling as though I am only beginning to live.  My story has not ended.  I am not done.

I do not wish to be ‘that’ cancer story, you know the one, the one that makes you cry.  I’d rather maybe make you cry a bit when you hear what I am going through, but by the end of this, I want you to be cheering, and/or laughing your ass off, because that’s how I roll.

Let me see YOUR smile.. Check out my solo, I was super extra spooky, just for you.  The one reading this, now.

Enjoy- Suzanne (Nureeta Mae, of Prairie Moon Belly Dancers)

I danced, again!

fgnfg

Last Friday my fellow dancers threw me a benefit. They all danced, little did they know I’d feel well enough to dance at least a few dances.  We dance an improvisational dance, my fellow shimmy sisters in my American Tribal Style (ATS) belly dance troupe, out are of Hasting, Nebraska.  There is a whole community all over America. I love being a part of it. Thanks for reading. Have a great Thanksgiving! -Suzanne

MRI Results

Results of MRI came back last night.

Got call personally from oncologist. Chemo is not working. Tumor has grown. I refused my 1 day chemo today. Surgery talk again, (even though this could paralyze, or mess me up WORSE..) They’re regrouping new sarcoma doctors, meeting Thursday in Omaha. I want to see the ocean. I want to sit beside it, maybe get in, and I want to just look out, maybe paint it. (Give me canvas’, all I want to do is paint!) I don’t want to talk to think, feel, I just want to.. NOT be sick anymore.

In the meantime, I needed to get outside. 2 of my sons went with me to the river to help cheer me up. We took some pictures, shared some hummus and laughs.
